My daughter and I are traveling to Nice and need a place to stay in Genoa. Looking for something close to the water for around $100-$120 per night. WE are coming in on a train from Milan.
Thanks
Hi Barb: Just curious. Milan to Genoa is only a 1hr 40min ride; and Milan to Nice, without stopping to sleep in Genoa, would be about 5 hrs. Are you getting a late departure from Milan, is that why you want to overnight in Genoa?
I can recommend www.venere.com to search for a hotel. I just found one in Genoa for our last day of our trip in May. I needed one close to the airport. I found a good one (I think, haven't been there yet)
I have used this website in the past, a few times, and each time, the hotel has been great. I got some really good pricing on 4 * hotels.
Yes we are coming in from Milan arriving about 8:30pm. I have been using Venere it seems between that and trip advisor I should be able to find one. I just thought if someone had a recommendation I would use it.
Any thoughts on where to stay in Nice? Price range $120-$170.
Barb
Rick gives hotel recommendations for Nice in his book, Provence & the French Riviera. I've slept in Nice but am not a hotel reviewer and don't keep up with changes in properties I stay at. So I'd recommend consulting professional hotel reviewers: two of them would be Rick and his organization, as reflected in his book. Or Michelin, they've been reviewing French hotels for a hundred years or so, for them go here, www.viamichelin.com, input Nice, check the box recommended by Michelin. Or maybe someone here has a hot personal recommendation from a recent stay.
