Where to stay first day, flying into Pisa

We are planning a two week stay in Cinque Terra and flying into Pisa from San Francisco. I am thinking the first day we will be pretty jet lagged and probably just want to go lay down. I thought we could maybe find a place to stay in Pisa the first day, but many posts here recommend not staying there. Does anyone have recommendations where to stay? Thanks in advance.

Hi Lisa!
In May our vacation will start similar to yours... We'll be flying into Milan and as soon as possible taking the train to Monterosso. I'm sure we'll be quite rummy but oh well! We'll get to start our vacation where we really want to be.
