Looking for suggestions on a fun, final night in Italy before we fly out of MXP on June 9. We will be in Monterrosso for 3 nts but thought that it is too far away to transfer for an 11 am flight. Are there any cool places our young adult children would like between those two spots, or close to airport? I would have loved to stay at an agritissimo (?) but not sure we would enjoy it as much if we’d have more time. Thank you!

I’d suggest spending the night before your flight in Milan. If you stay near Milano Centrale, you can easily travel to MXP on the Malpensa Expresss train.
There’s plenty to see and do in Milan to keep you busy for one day or afternoon & evening.
You and your young adult children may enjoy visiting the popular Naviglio district, along one of the old canals in Milan.

Stay near Milan's Cadorna station, not Centrale. The area is nicer, closer to the Navigli (16 minutes vs 25 by metro) and the Malpensa Express train from Cadorna is 15 minutes faster.

I agree with Dario. Find a place not too far from the Cadorna station (closer to the Duomo too). Trains from there to the airport are faster.
Don't take a taxi from Milan to Malpensa or you have to mortgage your house to pay the fare. Malpensa isn't close to the city. Use the train. Faster too. Timetable below
