Where to spend a day near Pompei

My daughter and I are in Pompei for 4 nights. We've toured Pompei, have plans to hike Mt. Vesuvius, and have a kayak trip along the Amalfi Coast planned. We have another day. Suggestions for where we should go or what we should do?

Thanks so much!

Wander around Sorrento, sampling limoncello perhaps?

Thanks for the suggestion! I was just looking for things to do in Sorrento. We may try to find a beach or place to hang by the water. We could use a low key day. :)

Have you visited the Archaeological Museum in Naples? This is where the artifacts recovered from Pompeii are exhibited. You could take the bus from Sorrento to Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. Visit Capri. Hike the Path of the Gods. Lots to do in the area.

Thanks for the suggestions! I booked the kayak trip with amalfikayak.com We'll be going to Amalfi just for the day. I've checked into transportation options and subway, then bus will take 2.5 hours. Not a good option for a one day trip. I'm considering renting a car. It's a 40 minute drive and the day rentals are much cheaper than a taxi. Anyone know what the drive's like from Pompei to Amalfi Coast?

Thanks!

Do you recommend that others stay in Pompeii? The question is asked several times a year here, and your advice would be welcome.

How about taking the shorter bus ride from the Sorrento Circumvesuviana station to Sant' Agata, having lunch after seeing the Dui Golfi view, and walking the 1.5 hour downhill paved path to Sorrento? This is less challenging than kyaking, however.

We are taking a private tour to,Pompeii recommended by Rick Steves. The individual that provides the tour is taking us to town called Positano. You may want to look it up.

We've enjoyed our stay in Pompei. I wanted a home base for our 4 nights in this area of Italy, thinking we'd do a couple day trips elsewhere. We ended up staying here since we had one day planned for the ruins and another day planned to trek to the top of Mt. Vesuvius. It's also a 30 minute subway ride to Sorrento, so we'll likely do that for a more relaxed day poking around and reading books by the water. We haven't stopped moving on our 16 day trip so far and feel it's time for a low key day. :)
It does take about 2.5 hours by subway/bus/ferry (however you'd choose to do it) to get to the Amalfi Coast, so that's a bit of time for a day trip. We decided to rent a car for the day since it's much cheaper than a taxi (47 Euros for 24 hours vs. 100 Euro one way). It's about a 45 minute drive to the spot we're meeting for our kayak trip and we'll likely stop to hike a bit of the Path of the Gods on the way. Still working that out to ensure we choose a trail head with parking, but it looks promising. We rented a nice place on Airbnb that's around the corner from the train station and there are plenty of restaurants/places to get gelato (yum) within walking distance.
I'm sure it all depends on where you want to go while you're here and how long you've got, but we're happy with our choice.
