Where to Sleep in Rome

Bummer! Our favorite place in Rome, Casa Di' Santa Brigida, is booked. There's no room at the inn for our trip at the end of May 2010. Darn it! So, I'm in need of suggestions. We love the location of the Casa Di' Santa Brigida. It's near the Campo Di' Fiore. I've looked through Rick's other suggestions and can't make up my mind. But I've gotta get busy or there won't be any rooms anywhere that's decent and affordable. Affordable for us means anything under 200 Euros. Please send recommendations.

My friends Emanuel and Emanuella will take excellent care of you. The Hotel, located directly at The Spanish Steps, is easy walking to The Via Veneto, Roman Forum, The Trevi Fountain, etc. Many excellents Cafes and/or Restaurants on the side street by The Steps. No cabs required!!

And Linda - GO RED SOX!!!

Ciao, Greg

John: Thank you for the suggestion on Arco Del Lauro. We checked it out on TripAdvisor and on their website and we loved it. We have been able to confirm a reservation for five nights with Lorenza for 135 euros per night! At first, we hesitated, but only for a moment, because it's across the Tiber. But we know that Trastevere is a very cool Roman neighborhood and that crossing the Tiber takes about one minute. And we're into creating a unique experience which is why we really resisted most of the other the other hotels in Rome. So excited about this. Thank you!!!

Linda, you are correct. Trastevere is a very cool neighborhood. The Arco del Lauro is located in a very quiet location however.

Have Lorenza make a reservation for you at "Enzo" for dinner. It is a neighborhood restaurant (just a hole in the wall), but it is packed every night, with people waiting out front in the street to get in, if they can. The restaurant serves typical Roman cuisine. Not a fancy place at all. Do you speak any Italian?

I would also suggest that you have Lorenza arrange transporation to/from the airport.
