Where to rent a house in Tuscany or Umbria?

In Nov. 2012 we plan to rent house in either Tuscany or Umbria for a week with 2 other couples. Looking for special locations. Probably looking at Nov. 10-17. Suggestions? Also, if there is another region that would have good weather in Nov. we would be up for that as well. Must be in Rome by Nov. 21 but otherwise our itinerary is wide open. This will be our 4th Italian vacation but the first for the other couples.

We spent 2 weeks at a house we rented with 3 other couples about 10 miles west of Siena. The house was up a dirt road but it was worth it. We had beautiful farm land all around us. 5 bedrooms and 4 baths with everything updated. We rented two cars and drove to all the major hill towns and Florence. Some of us also took the train to Venice for a two night stay. Expect the nights to be cool.

We rented a villa in Torre Alfina, a little village in the northern tip of Lazio, squeezed in between Umbria and Tuscany. It was called Villa del Castello and we rented it through Rentvillas.com. It had four bedrooms and three baths and was great. It might be bit big for you but I'd check it out if I were you. It is located near many interesting towns and villages. On day trips we went to Asissi, Orvieto (less than 30 minutes away), Florence (kind of quick for just a day) Montelcino, Civita, and other small hilltowns. Montepulciano and a lot of others were close enough to visit but we didn't have time. It was about 1 1/2 to 2 hours from Rome and very near the major north-south artery which goes right by Orvieto. Also, Rentvillas.com is very helpful and friendly, not only with the booking but with information about the area and Italy in general. Check it out to see if it'll work for you. I don't know what November is like there, but it was perfect for us last summer.
