we will be visiting Siena and want to rent a car to see the hill towns. Can you rent a care in Siena or do you have to do it in FLorence? Any ideas?

We rented a car from Avis (In Siena)upon leaving Siena. worked out great and we returned it in Florence for no xtra drop off fees.

Siena has a Hertz, Avis, and Europcar. I use Autoeurope which is a broker and gives great service.

You can go online to Autoeurope.com and see the rates they offer from Siena. They're very easy. They'll also match any better rates you find.

After going to all the big names on line for a rental for 2 days,I got a number (from Avis or one of the others) for this place in Liverno to see if they had a drop box because they had no clue about after hours drop offs. Got offered on the spot to come direct and saved tons. We're doing the same thing in May and did it all via email direct. Here's the contact info. It worked out to be about 100 Euro a day everything included, tax, unlimited km's, full Ins. Really nice people speak English too. They sent me a quote complete with pick up and drop off info.
