i will be traveling from naples to sorrento, but would like to stop at pompei for the afternoon. is there anywhere to store our luggage while walking around?

Yep! As you enter the main entrance, there is baggage check on the right-hand side (and it's free!). Makes it super convenient to drop off your bags, spend whatever time you want, then pick up your bags and hop back on the train.

Just like Roy said. We used this baggage check in May, left three suitcases and a backpack. Very convenient.
