Rome is large! Where are you staying?
You will get lunch wherever you are during your daily sightseeing.
We love Armando al Pantheon( book ahead online or call) and La Rosetta for seafood.

The Testaccio neighborhood in Rome, south of the very center, has the Testaccio Market, Mercato di Testaccio. It’s a very local place, open only until 3:30 in the afternoon, where you can grab lunch and eat at one of the tables in the center.

While many of the market stalls are selling fresh ingredients, many others prepare food. Take a taxi, or use the Metro and get off at the Piramide stop.

I would recommend a walking tour of Trastevere, checking out the Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere, then getting Suppli and porchetta sandwiches from any of the small eating establishments in the area. Suppli are like arancini--stuffed rice balls.

For a quick lunch, go to Trapizzino in Testaccio

it's like a pizza cone. The melanzana one is delicious

If you are near Campo dei Fiori, the restaurant Emma is quite good (it's on a side street), just search on
Google). For the best pizza taglio (cut pizza) to go, the Forno bakery in the Campo itself is great. It's in the left corner of the square if you are standing at the statue of Giordano and facing the same way he is. Go to the back of the bakery (it's small) and just point and indicate with your hands what size slice you want. They heat it and give it to you wrapped in paper for eating while walking.

Pizza al taglio can be messy to eat. Suggest grabbing extra napkins and ideally also having some wet wipes.
