We will spend almost a month in France and Italy. I've spent much in Venice and Rome. I'm thinking Florence and some small town and villages in Tuscany. Sienna actually looks too big and actually not that interesting from the pictures, contrary to popular opinion.
I wouldn't mind hearing about it, though. We will be traveling by bus and train so I know that could rule out a lot of places, although I would welcome those suggestions too. We could allow 1- 1 1/2 weeks.
Haven't decided it we will fly to Florence from Nice or take the train and maybe see one or two towns along the way.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Siena is wonderful. It is not so large. However, you can see it well in 2 days. Also, consider Lucca. but again, 2 days is enough.
Pisa is important to see the compound with the leading tower, half a day.
Umbria, with Assisi, Perugia and Spoleto are nice.
