Our daughter and her friend (21 years old) will be in Paris. They have 4 days/5 nights (at the end of July) before they will be meeting us in Milan. Our daughter has already been to Venice and Florence and they would love to get out of the big cities and spend some time on the coast somewhere? They like the idea of the Amalfi coast possibly Sorrento or Positano but it seems very difficult to get there from Paris and then to Milan with the time they have. Love to hear your thoughts and any other ideas of where they could go? This travel forum has been so helpful!
They could go to the French Riviera or the Italian Riviera, but both will be quite busy for this month so getting a room may be challenging. Towns to think about: Villefranche sur Mer, Antibes, Menton, or somewhere between Ventimiglia and Viareggio in Italy. (Note the Cinque Terre will be mobbed.)
Have you checked Easyjet?
From Paris Orly they have several flights a day to both Naples, AC, and Pisa, Cinque Terre. You might also check Milan Linate for lake Stresa, the closest to Milan. Not on the coast, beautiful lake with tons to do.
The closest airports to the Amalfi Coast are Napoli or Salerno. Stresa is a city on Lago Maggiore.
Stresa would be good, or Provence.
The Paris part will be finished at the beginning of these 5 nights or do they still have to see Paris too?
They will be done visiting Paris. Checking out of their airbnb on Mon July 24th there and meeting us in Milan on the 29th!
Maybe they might like Turin and the Langhe. Right on the way.
