where to eat in Bologna

I was in Bologna about 15 years ago, so take my recommendations with that in mind. But I still remember loving our wonderful meals at Gigina and Gianni. Neither one was expensive for what we got. Trattoria della Gigina is outside the center; when we told the cab driver where we wanted to go, he immediately shared this with all the other cabbies (i.e. we had found a gem that they all knew about, and our driver was surprised that we had found it). It was so good we went twice! We only got in because we went right when they opened - almost all the tables were reserved, and we got the last one. I see that TripAdvisor reviews for Gianni are mixed, and for Gigina are more positive - for what that's worth.

I liked Trattoria Serghio which is in the centre of town. It is very small so reservations are necessary.
