We're going to have 1 day in Bologna and would like recommendations for a restaurant - not expensive, just really good regional food. We're not wine drinkers so that's not a factor- just looking for a great meal - pasta? antipasto? regional favorites: parma ham, and cheese... Thanks
Here's a prior review of Bologna restaurants: http://www.ricksteves.com/graffiti/helpline/index.cfm?topic=19379
"We're not wine drinkers...." Oh oh, people have been asked to leave the country for not drinking wine with a meal in Italy! :)
Bologna is the self-proclaimed foodie capital of Italy. Tortellini is a regional speciality, and comes sauced or brothed. You will have a hard time getting a poor meal anywhere in Bologna; same holds true I think for all of Italy. Bon apetito!
