Where to buy the Rome City Pass in Rome

Hi,

We are planning on visiting Rome from Jan 10th - Jan 13th and have made resevations for the Vatican Museums and Borghese Gallery. We were wondering where is a good place to pick up the Rome City pass. We are arrving at the Rome Termini station on the 10th and are staying ina hotel close to that.

-thanks

Do you mean the Roma Pass? If so, you can buy it at the TI right in Termini station. The TI is a little hard to find. There is a building that runs parallel to track 24. It is in that building about halfway down. It doesn't have good signs to it, but if you find track 24 you will find it. There are some I signs (in the traditional font for a TI office) but when we followed those, we found a bookstore. Ignore those signs and get to track 24 and you will be fine.

Shankar:
Connie is right about the directions to the TI office. It is little difficult but not impossible to find. Also, you can buy the Roma Pass on line while in the USA then go and pick it up in person when you arrive in Rome ( this is what I did when I visited Rome recently).

I bought my Roma passes this fall at the train ticket office on the South side of Termini- just east of the cafeteria, past all the rental car desks- no line, no hassles.

We never did find the TI in the train station. The tobacco stands are supposed to sell them too but we tried at several and they all said they were sold out.

We found that buying several tickets at one time worked just fine.

If you don't get it at Termini, there are also several TI's booths around town. They are usually small octagonal buildings, easy to spot. The pass also is good for transportation, which was very helpful. It does not work for entry into the Vatican. Have fun!

We took the subway to the Borghese and after several signs inside the stations were deposited in the middle of nowhere once we exited. We walked for some time and flagged down local joggers till we found our way to the gallery. If you take the metro my suggestion is to get good directions; there was no help from directional signs once outside the station. That having been said, the Borghese is an amazing gallery with a sensational Bernini collection (among many other objects) housed in a sumptuous palazzo. Also expensive...make it one of your Roma pass entries.

Museums might sell them as well, but I am not sure which ones.

Hi Again.

I didn't find the TI at Termini either. The regular train ticket office on the South side of Termini, just past the rental car desks, is where I purchased our Rome Passes.
