Hello! Hoping someone can give me a phone number or website where I can buy cream di meloncello & cream di lemoncello. We were in Cinque Terre in September and completely zonked that we couldn't bring liquids home (we were up at 3:30 am to get our flight so not thinking properly). Had to dispose of our bottles at the airport in Venice. Bet they all had a good laugh!
Thanks so much!
Nicole
we bought some at the duty free shops at the airport. I found some at a local state liquor store..
Nothing tastes as good as what you drank there, but there are plenty of recipes to make your own limoncello. I'm getting pretty close, but will just have to wait for another trip to have the good stuff. Try googling "crema di limoncello" to see what you find.
Nicole, They sell limoncello and the cream version in the Virginia ABC stores ... I have found the both near me. Virginia ABC has a website which shows what they stock.
Thanks. We found the cream di lemoncello @ the liquor store, and bought it, but it's not nearly as good as what we had in CTerre. The canteloupe flavored one was much better, but haven't seen it here at all.
eh....the deal i got from the restaurant in frieze was: lemon juice [dosen't matter, fresh or from a bottle, and 100 proof grain alcohol]="lemoncello".
oh...after the high olive "sketts" dinner, and the killer salad...it was perfect. :}
I made my own after searching for weeks. It's really fairly easy. Just a lot of waiting.
I made both limoncello and the creamy version.
Nicole, I'm surprised you can't buy it at your local liquor outlets? Lemoncello (manufactured in Italy) is readily available in the Liquor Stores here (have a bottle in the Fridge at the moment). Now if I could only find a place to buy Mastika.......
Has anyone noticed that this thread is from over 3 years ago??
(in my best grizzled, Western film voice): Girl, you got a keen eye...;-) And the tipoff is typically a new poster...but doing his/her research, so can't complain there! BTW, Andrea will send everyone on this thread a bottle of her homemade limoncello!!! Or not.
I was saving my last bottle for you Eileen, but I guess I could let it go to the highest bidder. ;-)
