Where to buy gloves in Rome?

I'll be in Rome next week - ooh, such a nice ring to that. Anyway, a friend of mine swears by Fratelli Orsini leather gloves, specifically the ones that are lamb shearling. Does anyone know where I can buy them? With the cold spell there now, I think I will need them.

yep, tried that first. nada. I'm not fixated on Orsini - just want to get really good leather gloves and that's the only one I've heard about.

Oh, Chani, shame on you! Gloves, shmoves. You just wanted to write, "I'll be in Rome next week."

LOL No, I really want the gloves. It never gets cold enough here to need them. I did try to google the name, but all I got were online sales and a U.S. store. I don't need Fratelli Orsini, but I would like a good pair of really warm leather gloves.

Chani, have you tried googling with .it at the end?

Maybe they are only an export brand made for the USA market? Can't give you any names of other glove manufacturers but maybe it would be easier to look in one of the Department stores first. The via Cola di Rienzo in the Prati district is one of the best areas for middle/up market shopping.

Don't worry Chani, you'll see beautiful gloves in many store windows; I saw many walking in the area between Campo di Fiori and Spaninsh steps. You know will be much more difficult to keep the gelato drips off the leather ....? Maybe you'll need 2 pair!

With the cold weather there will probably be street vendors selling them like umbrellas when it rains. Although those will be cheap crap.
