where to buy a skirt in Milan

I have tried (unsuccessfully) to buy a black skirt below the knee (so that I can wear it in a church) with at least one pocket (to hold my day's spending in euros) so that I need not access my money belt.

Friends suggested that I buy my skirt in Milan.
Any suggestions where to buy a skirt in Milan? (we are staying near the Duomo.)

Thank you.

By the main piazza in Milan there is shopping. As you face the front of the Duomo, go to the left and you will find a department store.

It would certainly be cheaper, and less of a hassle if you found the skirt in the US and just pack it.

You don't necessarily need a skirt to go into a church, just pants below the knee. I know when I travel, I wear capri length pants and have never had an issue in churches.

As far a a pocket goes, if you can't find a skirt with a pocket, then invest in a neck wallet and wear it under your shirt...that will work for day's needs in cash, and you can keep your passport, etc in that too.
REI has a great selection of Eagle Creek security pockets for this use...or visit Target's travel section, they also have this item, as would any luggage store.

Have a wonderful trip.

I have gone to 3 department stores and 3 women's specialty stores in the US, and not found a skirt below the knees with a pocket.
Since many Italian women wear skirts, I thought I may be able to find a skirt there.
I will look for the department store near the Duomo.
Thank you.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. When I was last at St. Peter's Basilica, I saw a girl wearing short-shorts and a guy wearing shorts as well. As long as you are dressed in a relatively conservative fashion, I don't think you will have a problem. You don't have to dress like a nun.
