Where to base ourselves in the Dolomites

Hi everyone, I'm not sure if this is where I post this question. We will be spending 6 days in the Dolomites. We are interested in scenery most of all. This is our itinerary so far:

Bolzano 2 nights; visit Merano, Corno di renon, castles and museums.
Drive to Cortina along the Great Dolomite road but detouring off the road to go over the Sella Pass, Gardena pass, back down to the Great Dolomite road.
Cortina 3 nights; main thing to visit is the Tre Cime di Lavaredo
Drive to Ortisei via the Pordoi pass and repeat Sella pass. visit St Magdalena;
Ortisei 1 night.

There seems to be so much to do in Bolzano area, I'm thinking of spending one more night there and 1 night less in Cortina. Or 1 night less in Cortina and 1 more night in Ortisei.

Any thoughts will be welcome. We are traveling by car during the first week of June.

My mother was born in this general area of Italy and I have been to the Dolomites several times. I do not know if it warrants changing where you overnight, but please consider driving west and north from Ortisei and driving through Bressanone to Vipiteno, Colle Isarco and then to the border town of Brennero. The scenery here is stunning and definitely worth the trip!

Add a night to Ortisei, and remove the 3rd night from Cortina.
One nighters are a waste of time anyway.

You could stay all the nights at Hotel Uhrerhof. As long as you have a car it is the perfect base for exploring the area. You get dinner each night, multiple courses of really excellent food. This means you can explore all day,come back and truly relax in the evening. We really enjoyed our stay at this property which has impeccable large accommodations, beautiful views, hard-working staff, a spa area surrounded by luxurious gardens....all at a very reasonable price.
