Where does pasticceria owner Maria Grammatico hold her unique luncheon for the tour group in Erice?

For those that have been on an RSE “Best of Sicily tour. The pasticceria Maria runs on Via Vittorio Emanuele in Erice seems much too small for the expansive space that is shown in some of the RSE videos of her culinary school, which seems to be where the luncheon is held. There doesn’t seem to be much space for that big of a facility in that mountain top town. Is it on the outskirts of Erica? Does anyone that has been on the tour recall where it is?

According to geolocation on photos I took, it’s a few minutes outside of Erice. Here are the coordinates which you can copy and enter in Google Maps. 38°02'20.8"N 12°35'00.0"E

All,

Thanks so much for the quick reply!

I had a feeling someone from one of the RSE Sicily Tours might have that type of geolocation information in the detail of one of their photos or location logs. I had actually ID’ed that nondescript white commercial bldg on the outskirts of Erice as a possibility, since it was large enough to accommodate the cooking classes and had a view of the Egadi Islands, which is noted on the cooking school website that was noted.

I was an interested in the location, as my wife has some concern with the steep terrain around Erice, but it looks like the bus can just pull into the parking lot of this location.

Is walking up or down steep slopes your wife’s issue? We did not have to walk up or down any steep slopes to Maria Grammatico’s lunch or in Erice. Be advised, however, that there is a walk up quite a few stairs from the parking lot to Monreale Cathedral but she can take her time.

Yes, steep slopes could be an issue. Thanks for the update on walking, related to the Maria Grammatico cooking and lunch event, along with Erica. I was wondering about Monreale, so that information will be helpful.

The tour bus parks and discharges you at the base of the hill. There are usually taxis waiting there and your your guide will, most likely, arrange group rides to the top for those who choose not to walk. I think it cost me around €5.
