Where do I stay in Cinque Terre?

Hi all,

We are travelling Italy in September (13th September), and I will be in Cinque Terre for one night.
Which of the 5 cities should I stay overnight? Any good suggestions on hotels or B&Bs. B&Bs seem cute, should I go for that?
Can you please send me a good website that I could use to make my hotel reservations for Cinque Terre?
Thanks

I like Monterosso el mare & stay at Albergo Pasquale in Ricks book.

Priya, which village you stay in will depend to some extent on what type of lodgings you prefer. Monterosso al Mare has the most Hotels and choice in lodgings, and of course the prices are commensurate.

I stayed in Riomaggiore using Mar-Mar rooms and had a great time! I found that obtaining breakfast was a "two-part" affair, which made the experience somewhat more interesting.

My suggestion would be to check Rick's Italy Guidebooks to determine which village and lodgings most appeal to you.

Cheers!!!

We stayed at Edi's Rooms in Riomaggiore for 2 nights and wished it had been 3. There were 3 of us and we stayed in a small apt. with spectacular views from all windows and a terrace. No breakfast, but a small kitchen and a washing machine. We bought some fruit from one of the markets and ate it on our terrace. Check Rick Steve's book. He has websites/email addresses for places to stay.

Have a wonderful trip!

Vernazza was our favorite, not as busy and developed as Monterosso (if you want a real beach nearby, stay here). As for stays, if you're not too picky with how nice your accommadations are and more concerned with the local experience, Elisabetta Carro's rooms are cheap and have a great view. You will be perched atop the edge of a cliff, with the ocean waves crashing below you and a 360 view of the water and the hills.
