When booking the Venice, Rome and Florence tour the hotels are not listed.
I would like to do some research on the "type" of hotel this tour offers before I book.
Can anyone provide me with some of the hotels you stayed at while on this tour.
V- Hotel Mercurio - half a block from the Fenice theater
F - Hotel Silla - on the other side of river, but easy walk
R - Hotel Oceania - Near Piazza Repubblica
No complaints about any of them. Small and central, just as described.
Venice -- Pensione Guerrato: Great location near vaporetto and lively market, rooms were OK except for weak air conditioning. Probably wouldn't be my first choice if we ever went back to Venice, but nothing really wrong with it.
Florence -- Hotel Loggiato dei Serviti: Very nice, another great location a few blocks from the Duomo. No complaints.
Rome -- Hotel San Carlo: Nicest of the three, a block or two from Spanish Steps. Rooftop terrace for breakfast. STRONG air conditioning was welcome. Staff was excellent and helpful, as well.
Venice - Pensione Guerrato - superb central location. From my room, street noise at night from outdoor cafe. Rick Steves books it for many tours, so if you want to arrive early for 1 or 2 nights, you should contact the hotel ASAP.
Florence, - Hotel Silla. On south side of Arno but easy walk into historic center.
Rome - Hotel San Carlo - near Spanish Steps (which has a subway stop & taxi stand). Great customer service. I am staying there again on my own in December.
