When should I start booking my tour for Vatican and other big popular sites and or if I do it on my own when should I reserve my date for the Vatican ill be in Rome at the end of October

The Vatican reserves tickets and tours about 60 days in advance. You can check to see if your dates are available yet. The colosseum isn't booking tickets past the end of August yet so you'll just need to keep checking. The Borghese gallery books about 30 days in advance. Donna
