I will be traveling in Italy during September 2020. Is it better to book day tours while you're planning your trip or after you arrive? I will be spending five days in Florence, going on a guided tour, then spending 5 days in Sorento Do you traditionally find hotel desk personnel to be helpful with booking tours? This is my first trip to Europe in 40 years. So excited. Thanks for helping!
Hey Vj,
It's wiser to book your day tours on arrival. Your hotel front desk can also aid you in the process and some can also do it for you.
I'm in the opposite camp. I book my day tours as soon as my flights are set, sometimes even before I've booked hotels, as long as I can cancel without losing my money
Day tours offered by highly rated companies and guides can fill up fast. I know that hotels may be helpful in setting up tours, but I like to do my own research and get exactly who I want.
I like to book day tours ahead of time. As previously mentioned up thread, popular tours can book up fast. We did several private & group tours on our recent travel to Central Europe. I booked about 8 months in advance for this past September. Enjoy your planning.
Thank you all for your help!!
