I was following Rick's advice and trying to book the open (self-guided) tour of the Vatican Museums & the Sistine Chapel for our Rome visit in Sept. 2020. I went to the website (www.museivaticani.va) & followed the links to reserve tickets. However, when it came to the part asking what date I wanted the tickets for, the only choices were Feb., March, or April. Is it only possible to reserve tickets 3 months in advance? (I didn't see anything about this in Rick's book.) There is only one day that will work for us, so I want to be sure to get the tickets ASAP. (I tried e-mailing, using the e-mail addresses on the website, but I got a "mail delivery failure" for both addresses given.)
Thanks for any help you can provide!
Pat
Looks like the open tickets are only sold 60 in advance. But for example if you look at the Breakfast tour, you can book for September. If you only want open, you will need to wait till 60 days out till the specific day you want, and login early to purchase.
