My family will be in Siena June 7th. I tried to buy the Duomo Gates of Heaven tickets now online but it appears as though only tickets through Jan 7 were released. Is this typically the case? Do I need to check at the end of April for tickets on June 7th?

In my experience, the venues tend to release batches of tickets for an interval of time
at some point ahead of the date, maybe 2-3 months. But it's not necessarily consistent
(this is Italy, after all). Since it looks like just about every date until Jan 7 appears to have
availability, I would not panic too much. But yes, you should check every once in a while
and see when batches of tickets are released and how far in advance they are selling.
For some sites, like the Last Supper in Milan, they say when the next batch will go on
sale. Don't see that info here, which leads me to believe it's not a big deal. And if by
chance, the date you want sells out, keep checking, they often put more tickets up
for sale at random times.

We were in Siena mid October 2023 and we bought our tickets at the Duomo when we were there. Our tickets included the Gates of Heaven and we only waited in line for a few minutes. We got there right at opening time. We found the streets of Siena crowded but not the sights. June might be more busy so buying ahead might be easier. You will love Siena.
