wheelchair

My husband and I use wheelchairs to get through airports (assisted by airport staff). We travel between new york city and venice. We have been able to take direct flights since we started using wheelchairs but now there aren't any direct flights. Can you tell us which airports would be easiest to get through in wheelchairs, and how long we should allow for a transfer? It seems we have many options but hope to get to venice without long layovers.
Also would like to know which airlines and airports are most careful about covid.

Perhaps this specialized website would answer some of your questions - https://wheelchairtravel.org/air-travel/ Most of the followers of this forum would lack experience with wheelchair travel. I do know that numerous of the flights going to Venice from the US are seasonal and are scheduled according to demand - the flights therefore won't show up in searches far in advance.
