Hi, we would like to use the Rick Steves audio tour of the Colosseum. We will be there April 26 and wanted to pre-purchase a ticket to avoid the lines. Can anyone recommend what type of ticket to buy? I went to the official ticket site and it was a little confusing to me.

There are different types of tickets. Im not sure where you are looking, but if you go to the coop culture website, the different entrance fees with the ability to click/buy tickets are listed on the left. If you want to go underground (where the Gladiators waited) and to the third tier, you would have to go on a tour, which is 11 euro per ticket. If you scroll down, you will see "Underground, third ring..." tickets it will say "9 euro", but they add 2 euro as a service charge).

The first trip we just bought tickets and walked thru. The last trip we took our grandson on the Underground Tour. We had a great guide. I recommend it but you need to get the tickets asap.
