My daughter and I will visit CT in Oct for only 2 full days and 2 half days. What are the must see cities out of the 5. I know they are all fabulous but we can only stay for such a short time.

See all five. It takes all of twenty minutes on the train to go from northernmost Monterosso to southernmost Riomaggiore.

Yes, get the train pass and you can just hop on the train anytime to move between towns. There are several trains all through the day and evening, and the trip is just a few minutes between towns. The towns are small. See them all.
But be sure to take the "lover's walk" between Manarola and Riomaggiore. It's an easy, level, half-hour stroll with what may be the most beautiful scenery you've ever seen!
