What to do with luggage from train station to a site to the airport

My husband and two teenagers are taking a train to Pisa from Vernazza. We will be catching a plane to Paris. We will have 4-5 hours from train to plane and would like to visit the field of dreams. Any suggestions on how to work the luggage. Leave it at train station then go back and get it then head to the airport........go from train station to airport, drop off luggage then site see. Help, now sure how to work this out logistically.

HI JJ,

If you are arriving by train from Vernazza, I'd leave the bags at the deposito bagagli desk in the train station (€4 per bag for 12 hours). Visit the Tower and Field of Miracles, then go back to the station to get your bags and catch a bus to the airport (buses for the airport leave from behind the train station every 10 min., tickets cost €1.30, just buy from the driver).

jj,

The easiest solution would probably be to leave the luggage at the Deposito Bagagli at Pisa Centrale. Be sure to leave lots of time to retrieve the baggage in case there's a queue (others may be doing the same thing). Here's a link (in Italian)....

I assume you're referring to the Piazza dei Miracoli (Square of Miracles). The guidebook has information on getting there from the station (it's about a mile or so). If time is an issue, I'd probably use a Taxi.

Be sure to get off the train at the Pisa Centrale station. There's another station closer to the sight, but no luggage storage. With limited time, take a taxi to and from the station. It may take a few minutes to check the bags and to retrieve them. There's usually one person working, so if there's someone ahead of you, or he takes a short break, you'll be waiting.
