What to do, where to stay in Riviera di Ponente

We are planning a trip in late September. Starting in Turin, day hiking in Piedmont wine region for week, and then wanting to spend ~ 5 days along the coast. We have been to Cinque Terre and are looking at exploring west of there, perhaps even west of Genoa. Any suggestions of where to stay and what to see? Biking along the Lungomare Europa from Varazze to Cogoleto looks interesting.
Thanks

I'll make a go. We stayed in Santa Margherita Ligure last year, and spent a great day hiking from Camogli to San Fruttuoso (take the train to Camogli), swam at SF, and took the ferry back. We really liked SML. This summer we are staying in Chiavari, and plan to take the train along the coast to different towns (we have also been to the CT and that is not one of the places we will return). We dont have any hikes planned yet and will figure that out on the fly. West of Genoa, imo, gets a little more resort-y (more like Florida, less old Italian village). Of course there are many old villages to explore, but not necessarily on the coast. Arenzano is one on the coast just west of Genoa weve heard good things about. Further west, we really liked Finale Ligure, mostly because we are mountain bikers and there is a hige mountain biking infrastructure/trail system and community that lends a more outdoorsy feel. The old town of Final Borgo is fun to walk and eat in, and the old promenade on the shore is nice. You can google 'best villages in Liguria" and this will give you all the beautiful spots in the hills above the coast that would be nice to visit if you have a car, and you can use the list to decide which seem interesting or not. That's all Ive got :)
