What to do if it is raining in Sorrento, Capri, Pompeii, etc.

We plan to visit Pompeii, Sorrento, Capri and the Amalfi coast if we have time. We will have a 2-3 day time frame. I want to plan for contingencies. What happens if it is raining? What would you suggest for things to do for my son and me? Grazie, Ruth

Bring a umbrella. We always do. If it rains it will rain for a few minutes, maybe an hour or so - so what. We also wear water proof shoes all the time and use a rain jacket. Rain has never stopped us.

In Sorrento there's a lovely museum, the Correale (hope that's right) where we whiled away 90 minutes during a thunderstorm. But as Frank says, usually rain is brief, and with the right clothes and accessories, nothing should stop you entirely. Pompeii in the rain might be quite nice and uncrowded..

Thanks very much Frank and Laurel. I was thinking that the rain would be all day and night as it often does in Seattle. How nice that it usually rains for only a brief time, and that brief time sounds refreshing! Grazie!
