What to do after a food and wine tour of Piemonte.

My husband and I are doing a Modern Adventures tour of Piemonte. it starts and ends in Turin from March 30, to April 5th. We live in Florida. We will fly from Newark to Milan likely a few days earlier as we have not been to Milan. Will definitely use guide books/local guide to explore for a day or two. I would like to extend by 7-10
+ days and am stumped about where to go. Have considered the French and Italian Rivieras, Lake Como and Bologna and surrounding areas. We have been to Rome, Tuscany, Venice. I was knocking out Lake Como given the time of year (possibly too cool?). We love food, history and beauty. We love walking, but difficult hikes are now out since my husband's back and heart operations. Am I wrong about Lake Como? Maybe a Bologna centric extension? We are willing to travel by train and driver. We will not drive. And happy to spend money on great tour guides. Love to research, so I will choose hotels once I nail where we will go! Please help.

With those parameters (season, transport), either Emilia Romagna or the Italian Riviera would be great.

I agree with Emilia Romagna (Bologna region) as a great choice, especially since you are into food. We’re planning to go from Turin to Aosta next year, but you really need a car to get around near Aosta.
