What is there to do in Civitavecchia?

I have read many forum responses that have all indicated taking the train into toRome. Although Rome is an option for us, I have already been there. Are there any places of interest one should checkout in Civitavecchia? I will of course be arriving on a cruise ship and I am one who loves to wonder and just discover things when I travel. But having a few "must see" or "should checkout" items are always interesting. I don't care to spend the money on an organized off board guided tour. So, your thoughts and suggestions are eagerly awaited. I will travel in early June.

Spend the money on a tour either through the ship or from a private operator or stay on the ship and lounge by the pool. Civitavecchia is a port and does not have anything to see.
