We will fly into Rome from Boston. We will eventually land in Sicily. Is it best to fly back to Boston from Palermo or
to go back to Rome.
It's usually much cheaper to fly round trip to Rome, and buy a cheap ticket
from Palermo back to Rome. Check out Kayak.com or cheapoair.com for tickets. Bud DO be aware that there may be restrictions on luggage weights.
You can't fly back from Palermo to Boston. There are no US bound flights from Palermo (except for a weekly seasonal flight to JFK with Meridiana Fly). You have to fly to some other European hub first. Of the major airlines only Alitalia, Iberia and Lufthansa fly to Palermo (from FCO/MXP/TRN, MAD, MUC respectively). All other flight options from Palermo are intra Europe low cost airlines.
Fly. We used AirOne years ago....a Lufthansa alliance. Rome - Palermo. Rome- Palermo, then to Boston There won't be a direct flight from Boston to Palermo, you will switch flights in Rome.
