What is Borgo Argenina close to?

HI all, my wife and I will be staying in Tuscany (near Siena?) for several days this September before moving on the Florence. HOtels in Siena are getting hard to find. We will have a car so moving further out in the countryside is not a problem. We are looking at Borgo Argenina, recommended on the toursbyroberto site. It looks great and almost all the reviews I have seen agree that it is a wonderful place to stay. We would use it as a base for day trips around Tuscany/Umbria (Assisi, Deruta, Montepulciano, and more).

Some reviewers said they took part in a cooking class and a family style dinner, all of which sounds like a good idea, but not every night. We would like to try a couple of local restaurants without having to drive a half hour each way to Siena.

My question is, is Borgo Argenina near anyplace else? Restaurant ideas also welcome.

Thanks

Just use google maps and zoom in and you'll see many highly rated restaurants within a few miles, like in La Madonna, Lecchi in Chianti, and just plain middle of no-where.

We truly enjoyed our stay there a few years ago. Elena cooks with her guests, but just once. She gave us recommendations for restaurants while we were there.

Borgo Argenina is in Gaiole in Chianti and is close to Castellina in Chianti. We drove off each day to explore towns in Tuscany, so one night we ate in the village we were visiting that evening before driving back to Borgo.

The cooking experience was delightful because we explored during the day and arrived back around 5. There were 12 of us in the kitchen, adding "more wine" to the cooking pot, chopping vegetables and chocolate, and creating two dishes and a dessert. While we cooked we drank wine and visited with the other guests.

Her breakfasts were homemade dishes. We had a hard time leaving !
