We are traveling to Italy in early October and want to hike on the Amalfi Coast. Which of the towns is best for beauty, hiking, food, quiet?
I am partial to Praiano and Minori, but all of the towns are very nice. I think Minori is the most laid-back, but buses and ferries stop there. Not much of a hiker, but Ravello has a lot to offer and the views are stunning. Far from the beach, if that's a factor.

I loved my stay in Pogerola last May. It's above Amalfi so views are spectacular. But it is an easy bus ride down to Amalfi (or a not so easy walk down). I am not sure if there are other hikes from the town.
It is definitely quiet with a few shops off the main square where you can buy bus tickets, she me snacks, some pharmacy type stuff. We ate dinner in the town every night at different small, family owned restaurants.
We stayed at the Villa Maria b&b. Rooms were large, beds comfortable, nice bathrooms. It was a perfect 3 days.
