Have rented a car in Sorrento to visit sites (Pompeii, Hercul. Amalfi coastal towns etc..) what challenges should I expect with parking? Fearless driver, have done the Gorge de Verdun & Corniches de Monaco etc... I know the bus, train and water transport is great but I recently had knee surgury and refuse to cancel my holiday, hence the car!!!!

Rick has a DVD on Amalfi that gives a good idea about parking challenges, you see it in the DVD, Rick in that DVD was recommending hiring a driver for the day, might work for you, balance the cost against the time lost hassling with parking. There's been prior discussions of this, I'll try to find some and provide links. It is worse in summer and one weekends.
