What happened to the No-Go thread?

I was reading a thread yesterday about Piazza Venezia being a no-go thread and now it's not here anymore. When I do a google search, this comes up:

Is Piazza Venezia in Roma now a No-Go Zone? - Rick ...
https://community.ricksteves.com/.../is-piazza-venezia-in-roma-now-a-no...
1 day ago - 1 post - ‎1 author
The Internet says that No-Go Zones for non-muslims are being established all over Europe. Muslims have now claimed Piazza Venezia in ...

But when I click on the link it shows a picture of Rick laying down, apparently exhausted, saying he can't find what I was looking for. (lol).

Is this topic off limits? If so, why? I know on other discussion boards religion is a verboten topic, but I didn't consider this a religious question. Are there other topics that are off limits?

It probably got removed because the information in the original post is incorrect. There is no "no go" section near the piazza venezia, it was a one day event. You are fine going to and walking through the P. Venezia. Someone translated the text of the original article incorrectly which is why that OP was in a panic about it.

Donna's reasoning is correct, the post and at least one response to it contained incorrect information.

I don't think the topic is off limits as long as it is factual. Someone asked a decent question but the first response was simply off the wall wrong. I think that responder is an internet traveler. Someone who finds internet references and then posts as their experiences with a bit more hype. I am guessing that other posters started jumping on the first poster for being so wrong. This was a postings that just wasn't going to go anywhere good. So the whole thing was pulled and probably best.

Piazza Venezla is not a no-go zone according to one of the local Italian posters.

There is an extensive (long read) analysis of the "No-Go Zone" rumors on Snopes at
http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/nogozones.asp

The Snopes article does not mention Italy at all.

I imagine it was removed to avoid perpetuating an incorrect and inflammatory rumor. It actually started with "The Internet says..." as if "The Internet" were a single reliable source.

I responded, as politely as I could, to that thread. I suppose the OP might have been an unknowing person confused by some of the recent "proclamations" by a few American politicians. But the first response was factually way off base and it likely was going to end up impolite.

And just to reiterate, there are no such things as "no-go zones."
