Up until December when the 2017 edition came out, I was using an older Italy guidebook to start planning my trip. One of the first things I noticed in the new edition is that Cortona is no longer in the book. Has Rick gone off Cortona or was the decision to leave if our just a question of space? I was thinking of going, but now I'm curious as to why it has been omitted.
I'm sure this was an issue of space. Cortona is still covered in Florence & Tuscany 2017.

Please go to Cortona, it is fabulous. We stayed at San Michele, its an old palace with a fabulous breakfast and beautiful rooms. They have another place outside the walls with a pool that they will transport to you free of charge (I think). Just make sure you are able to walk the hills, there is only one flat road in the town. Trattoria Dandaro on Via Dandaro was fabulous and so inexpensive. If I remember correctly, it was cash only but full of locals and the food was incredible.
I don't know what happened to Cortona. Maybe it moved to Cortina.
