Hi, my husband, my baby who will be 9 mo and I are planning to visit Italy in November. Which cities wont be too cold and are good to travel with a baby? I have been to Rome, Florence, Venice and Cinqueterre and would like to visit other parts but open to those as well since my husband has not been. Would Tuscany be too cold in early November? Also any hotel recommendations would be appreciated.
Many of the small towns pretty much shut down around then. You could run into a lot of rain and wind.
Perhaps Spain or Portugal would be better?
Or- actually wait until December and experience Xmas markets in Europe.
Will be interesting to see what others say.
Safe travels!

What is 'too cold' ?
Sicily?
Thank you for the clarification question. I consider 40° to be cold. I am a California girl living in the East Coast now.
No opinion on the city, but coming in to say that 9 months is a great time to travel with a baby. They’re not mobile but they usually sleep fairly well, etc. The toddler years, where they have no self control and want to run up and down the aisles of an airplane are a whole other matter, haha! My point is, do what you want to do - I wouldn’t worry too much about the baby at that age.

I am not so sure about that. My memory of when our kids were that age is a bit hazy, but it was amazing how far they went in what seemed to be a short time.
When do babies crawl?
At 6 months old, babies will rock back and forth on hands and knees. This is a building block to crawling. As the child rocks, he may start to crawl backward before moving forward. By 9 months old, babies typically creep and crawl. Some babies do a commando-type crawl, pulling themselves along the floor by their arms.

Ok, crawling, yes. I’m referring more to “running into traffic and throwing themselves on the floor in a tantrum” toddler behaviors as “mobile.”
California is big, and temperatures vary from north to south and based on the proximity to the Pacific Ocean.
Based on my experience having lived in Florence the first part of my life and in the SF Bay Area the second half (and a bit), I would say that temperatures in early November in the South SF Bay Area are very similar to temperatures in Tuscany or Rome (Rome might have a degree or two more but not much). California is still dry in early November however (rains tend to come in December) whereas in Italy early November is the wettest time, so carry an umbrella. Venice is a bit cooler. South of Naples is warmer. Sicily even warmer, probably closer to Southern California temperatures. 40 degrees are rare in early November in Florence, unless you go higher in altitude (maybe at night).
