I am planning a trip to Florence next summer 2014. What are the top 10 things to do in Florence? Thank you.
Diane
Thank you. This is a helpful preview of Florence.
dianne, I dont know about top 10 because everyone likes different things. For example. My first time there I was there for one week. The seventh day was Easter. My favorite thing to do was just stroll around and enjoy the late nights and early mornings before and after all the tourists were around. Go across the Arno and stroll as well. Of course see the David and the ufezzi ( sorry cant spell). admire the Duomo etc. take your time and enjoy more than worrying what you might not see. Have fun! Bill
There's a guy named Rick Steves who has written a guidebook about Florence and Tuscany that contains really helpful information, esp. for the first-time traveler. You might want to check it out. It will be the smartest money you spend on your vacation.
Take some time to look this site over.....click through and make your own list of things that interest you... I'm using this a lot to figure out what we will do next month for 5 days in Florence. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g187895-Activities-Florence_Tuscany.html
Thank you for your suggestions. This is the best place for one-on-one advice on travel.

Diane, My husband and I really enjoyed taking the "Florence in One Day" tour through Art Viva. We used this company while on our first European trip this past June. The guides were great, well organized tour, and we hit all the big highlights of the city. During our 16 days in Europe, we did not do many organized tours, not our favorite way to travel-but in this case we loved it!
Among what would make my list, besides the common one would be: Gelato at Grom (Well, that one would be experienced a couple times a day)A Tripe sandwich from a street vendor
Tripe sandwich? No thanks! One of my highlights is to eat at Leonardo's Cafeteria (upstairs.)
