I will be visiting CT the second week of September and am interested in a whale watching excursion.
Is September a good time to go whale watching?

I've not done this, but if you google "whale watching cinque terre", there are various entries, some including companies that offer such tours. Maybe you've already checked there. It does indicate that spring and summer are peak whale-watching times in CT, and I guess the second week in Sept still qualifies as summertime. I don't know where you are located now, but these very days we have a huge and unusual number of whales close by the shore in the Monterey Bay on the Central California Coast.
