My granddaughter and I will be meeting in Rome. She will be flying from ORD and I'll be flying from CLT. She lands 40 minutes before me (that's assuming flights arrive close to schedule) and I'm looking for a good place to meet. I remember "meeting place" signs but don't recall if they are after baggage pick up and customs. I plan to call her as soon as I land, but I'd like her to be comfortable while she waits. I have international calling and we both have WhatsApp. Suggestions please ... and thank you.

Meet her at one of the meeting point columns (there are more than one, I think 4 of them, next to one another and they are numbered). They are after the exit, after immigration and after baggage claim, basically at the doors out of the terminal 3 (I think you both arrive at T3).

Yes, we both arrive at T3. Thank you so much, I appreciate your reply. Since my post I've been doing some "googling" and you are spot on. I found a good site called The Catholic Traveler if anyone else is interested in checking out that site.
