Get there as early as you can to line up for security. In looking at my pictures from March 2023, we were there just before 7 am and there were a lot of people in line in front of us. And there was some confusion about where to line up and we started in the wrong line. We were probably 5-6 rows back from the front, off to the right side. If I had to do it over, I would get there closer to 6:30 am.
I suggest picking up your tickets the day before.

In addition to getting there early, try and get a chair that is just behind the wooden barricades that define the aisles. The Pope will drive right in front of you. People will stand up as the Pope drives by, so stand on your chair to be above them. The early folks will grab these seats, so grab the seats ASAP. I got lucky as he stopped to kiss and bless a baby. I was standing on my chair and got a great video as that happened.
