It's my understanding that the way to get tickets for the Leaning Tower of Pisa is through www.opapisa.it, but it's now been down for 116 days. What is the currently preferred way to get tickets and avoid the lines? Thanks!

This is so weird. That link doesn't work for me Shirley. I even tried on Firefox, IE and Chrome and my Windows phone on AT&T service! Ugh...

Wait! I was just able to access boxoffice.opapisa.it/Turisti/app on my phone, but doesn't work on my computer. Weird, but at least I can access it from my phone!
So I'm unable to access the site on my desktop, but I am able to access it from my iPad and my Windows phone. The mobile version is working, but something is not working for the regular desktop version. I should be able to get tickets now, but it looks like you can only book 3 weeks in advance and we aren't planning on the tower until April 7. I'll keep checking back!

That is very weird, because I accessed this just before posting. But at least it sounds as if you got some kind of access. Good luck with your tickets.

Regarding access via phone but not computer: It could be the firewall/security software that prevents access from your desktop. I had a similar problem - I could access a Paris hotel web site from my home computer (on a DSL modem) but could not at work (on an Ethernet connection); just got a 404 error message. I talked to our IT people about it and they could only conclude that the security software on our system at work prevented access to the site for some reason.
