Weather late September

Hello! Wanted to get your thoughts on what the weather is typically like in late Sept. Does the rainy season usually start around then? We'll be in Rome, CT, and Venice. I've heard in CT there's not much to do if it rains, and the trails are sometime closed if wet. Just curious if you think rain might be an issue during our trip. Thanks!

It's no more likely to rain in
September than August or July...it's not like CA...they actually get rain (in the north) year round. My wife is a typical CA native...we go to
Europe and it rains two or three times in 22 days...and the first thing she says when people ask her "How was your trip?" "It rained."

I've been mid September and the weather was wonderful. I think we had a day of light rain but it was sunny and warm the other days. Always bring a light rain jacket just in case. September is usually a pretty busy month for tourists so make your hotel reservations soon.

We spent the month of September in Italy and had really wonderful weather. My Italian instructor says September is the best time to go. We got sprinkled on only a couple of times briefly, and the rest of the time was great. Ask for the weather forecasts at your hotel while you're there, and do have a light rainjacket/windbreaker ready just in case.
