I'm leaving for Sicily in 2 days! Although I've packed for the seasonal average of 60 to 70 degrees, I checked the weather forecast and there's a high chance of rain this week and next. I'm not sure if I should change my packing to include a full length raincoat and shoes (vs. sandals). I know no one can predict the weather, but I would be appreciative of the opinion of those who have been there this time of year. Mille grazie!!
Donna, we went the last week in April, and I was swimming in the ocean......well, it was not "hot" but we were were laying out on the beaches and the water was "passable". We always pack shoes and sandals, but never a raincoat. But.........watch that weather report........and make sure that you carry a light coat.... NOT a full length rain coat (unless it is one of those "roll it up in a bag" things!
Have a great trip!
We were in Sicily in May last year. The weather was great. We did have one day of windy and it was a bit cold the next morning, but no rain at all.
May is great travel time, as is the fall. For others reading this board, travel in the summer months to Sicily is miserable hot!
