We were in Rome, CT and Lucca in early November a few years ago - weather was changeable, with some warm days, some showers both overnight and during the day - we were rained on at the Forum - and gale force winds and rain in Monterosso. Most evenings were cool but pleasant. So plan on layers, a light jacket - preferably waterproof - and waterproof shoes.
