Weather in Rome and Amalfi Coast- early November

Hi there! Going to Florence for business in early October and eventually my husband will join me and we’ll do some traveling. Considering Rome and then Sorrento in early November. Has anyone been to those spots in first half of November? Is the weather decent still?

Thanks in advance!

Definitely jacket weather (the daily weather will tell you what type of jacket), it's getting closer to the "barely any light time" so it gets dark way early......I tend to want to visit the "outdoor" places during the time of the year with more sunlight

I just thought of the jacket again, and as soon as it hits November 1st, all the Italians will have one on anyways :) HAHAHA (or is it Oct 1st?)

Though I am DYING for a trip in December (or the end of November) to see the Luci d'Artisti in Salerno!

About Italians wearing clothes to suit the seasons, not weather--- its so true! Last time I was in Florence in early Oct. it was 80 degrees during the afternoon and folks were walking around in blazers and scarfs. And yet I had on a short sleeve t-shirt and was sweating! Ha!

Yeah, I hear you on visiting Southern Italy in November and the shorter days, but on the OTH, it won't be blazing hot and there won't be the large crowds maybe? Bright side.

Yes, bright side.....but sad side that there will be less ferries and you will have to deal with the buses along the coastal road!

You say October, so I guess the magic day is October 1st (and not November)! All I knew it was the beginning of a fall month haha I guess the changeover in spring is May 1? UGH haha

It was once the end of February, temps in the upper 60s and I left the house with a long sleeve shirt on and a scarf "just in case" and ALL of my friends were worried I would get sick and die because I didn't have a jacket on! I even got weird looks!

I think Sorrento will be more relaxed than summertime and handy for daytrips, Capri, the ruins, and Napoli in particular, though I would hold your plans in your hands very loosely depending on the weather.

Yes we were in Rome and Naples mid November a few years back. We loved it as it was less crowded, we still ate outside at lunch time and the weather/temperature was perfect for us. My spouse was teased in Rome about having a light weight shirt on when we were out and about. When we replied ‘Canadian’ the woman smiled. Our first hint of the heavy coats was our flight from London to Rome. All the Italians around us were in full winter gear and we had fall jackets on.
