I am sorry for posting here - but I couldn't find an appropriate forum.
I saw a link here for a great weather forecasting site and now I can't find it. It was in one of the posts. You could look up the weather on any date of the year and how it was in previous years on that date. It was super helpful in planning my carry-on only bag. It was something link "timeandplace.com" but I tried that and it was not the correct URL. Thanks for your help.

I use government meteorological sites for forecasts. For Italy I used meteo.it.
For weather history, there's also Wunderground in addition to the two already mentioned. Choose the one whose interface you like. I use timeanddate.com. Here's a link for Rome in April 2023 (random month):
Use the Search box at the upper right to change the location and the pull-down box just above the graph to change the date and time displayed.
This is the direct path to historical weather data:
Go to timeanddate.com.
Choose Weather.
Choose Worldwide.
Enter destination in Search box. Pick from the list if necessary.
Choose Yesterday/Past Weather.
Select the desired month and year from the pull-down box.
Always check multiple years, because weather can vary wildly from one year to the next.
